Memorials

The ones who got us into this

Most people who love a flat-faced breed can name the dog that started it. Some of those dogs are not here anymore. This page is for them, and nothing on it is a contest.

A memorial is not an entry

No votes, no brackets, no treats, no leaderboard. A memorial cannot win anything and cannot be ranked against anybody. It sits outside every mechanic on this site on purpose.

It never costs you a slot

Your profile holds four active dogs. A memorialized dog does not count against those four. Remembering one does not mean giving up room for the ones still here.

Private unless you say otherwise

Keep it on your own device and nobody sees it, including us. Publish it and it goes through the same photo review as everything else, then it stays as long as you want it to.

The first memorials arrive with the app.

When the community opens, this page becomes the public wall for the dogs people choose to remember here: a name, a photo, the years, and whatever their person wants written. Until then it is a promise with nothing on it yet, which felt more honest than a placeholder dog.

What a brachy parent is →

A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than it loves itself, and the only one that will spend its whole life being happy you came home.

Every memorial here is written by the person who lived it. We do not write them, edit them for tone, or put a crown on them.
